The NECTA Connector Awards recognize individuals in the public and private sectors who have made significant contributions to the advancement of connective technology. NECTA publicly celebrates “connectors” who achieve success and reach important milestones in the arc of their career. NECTA’s connectors carry forward New England’s history of telecommunication “firsts” and drive transformative technology by fostering sound public policy and unrivaled investment and innovation. Congratulation’s to this year’s recipients!
As 2025 gets under way, we wanted to take a moment to send a quick note of thanks to all of you for making 2024 such an exceptional year for NECTA. Last year also marked substantial successes for our NECTA members, reflecting the collective hard work and dedication of our community and our industry. We eagerly anticipate what this new year will bring and look forward to new opportunities and growth ahead.

Big East Tournament
Sporting events dominate our televisions and our bandwidth! NECTA had Big East fever with Providence College and UConn contending for the tournament championship. We convened at gathering of our members and friends in New York City to watch all the action at Madison Square Garden and discuss the future of sports entertainment. |

NECPUC reception at Mount Washington
At the New England Conference of Public Utility Commissioners (NECPUC), NECTA hosted our second annual NECPUC evening reception bringing together public officials, utilities, tech companies, and NECTA members. The event marketed as “NECTA After Dark” was a huge success and will likely become a staple of future NECPUCs! The annual NECPUC Symposium has been a long-standing convenor of the region’s public and private regulatory voices. We’ll see you in Mystic, Connecticut in May! | ![]() ![]() |
Women’s High Tech Coalition (WHTC)
In May, NECTA was honored to host the Women’s High Tech Coalition (WHTC) as they kicked off their Boston innovation tour. Continuing WHTC’s mission to provide networking and growth opportunities for women in the tech space, this event brought together Congressional staff, Massachusetts public officials, and women from leading tech companies to discuss the future of technology and how we can collaborate to close the digital divide. Tiffany Chu, Chief of Staff to Mayor Michelle Wu, and Shin-pei Tsay, Director of the Office of New Urban Mechanics for the City of Boston provided keynote remarks and led the audience discussion before we adjourned to a networking reception on NECTA’s rooftop patio. |

Celtics parade breakfast
An estimated 1 million people lined the streets of Boston to celebrate the Celtics record 18th NBA Championship and NECTA was there to celebrate our Celtic pride with our members. NECTA hosted a breakfast fit for champions ahead of the rolling rally celebration. Cheering fans could already be heard on our rooftop patio ready to honor the franchise’s historic achievement. | ![]() |

NECTA Boston 2024 Women’s Leadership & Innovation Forum and the Strong Women Alliance Diversity Spotlight Awards
NECTA hosted the Boston Women’s Leadership and the Strong Women Alliance Diversity Spotlight Awards to celebrate New England women leaders and our colleagues in the cable broadband industry who have made significant contributions to promoting women and diversity in their companies. Centered around the theme of “Connecting Leaders of a Connected World”, the evento featured emerging and established women leaders from New England’s broadband, technology, sports, media, and entertainment sectors, as well as the public sector. | ![]() |

Speakers, including Castle Group Principal & Co-Founder Sandy Lish, Sports reporting icon and hall of fame broadcaster Lesley Visser, internationally renowned ultra-marathon runner Becca Pizzi, and United States Senator Edward Markey, shared personal success stories and the event concluded with an awards ceremony that honored notable figures who made a significant impact on diversity in media followed by a networking reception on NECTA’s rooftop patio. |
2024 Annual NECTA Convention
Our signature event of the year was our 63rd annual Convention at the Newport Harbor Island Resort!
NECTA 2024 proved to be one of the industry’s most esteemed and largest gatherings, where state and federal officials, business leaders, televisión personalities, sports figures, journalists, technologists, and public policy experts convened under the theme of “How We Connect.”
The event, which featured special guests such as former Celtics star Cedric Maxwell, the Lieutenant Governors from Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts, as well as United States Members of Congress Annie Kuster and Gabe Amo among others, explored a wide variety of topics aimed at seizing tremendous opportunities all focused on closing the digital divide.
